Our mission is to provide pragmatic, practical, and timely content on process improvement topics.

We won't be limiting ourselves to CMMI or other technologies from the SEI because there's so much more to the conversation than just CMMI.

That's why we're partnering with APLN-MD.

For your own self-study, and for additional information, the source material for many of the answers on CMMI come from the SEI.  They're not hiding anything; it's all there.

This "grand experiment" comes from the understanding that:

• Agile and CMMI share goals, albeit their means and maybe their motives are different.
• Neither Agile nor CMMI are right or wrong, there are only good and bad implementations of either.
• Bringing APLN and SPIN together can only be a good thing, if "produced" by the right people.
• Neither will go away any time soon, thus, helping each community understand the other is necessary and can't be avoided.
• It would be a service to both communities to have them understand each other and cooperate.

We plan to conduct joint meetings and other activities and to share resources, materials and leadership.

Our hope is to make gbSPIN as accessible as possible to as wide an audience as possible.  And, we won't shy away from re-running high value programs so that we can make them available on different dates in different places.  To that end, meetings are planned for the 3rd Tuesday each month (with exceptions) and the locations will move around the Greater Baltimore region for the forseeable future.
